Every charger fed through the ground needs a trench and clean sand around the cable or duct, from a single home charger on a driveway to a bank of rapid chargers in a car park or on a forecourt. We deliver cable sand in bulk bags or tipper loads anywhere in the UK, from a single bulk bag.

Tight sites
Car parks, forecourts and driveways rarely have room to tip. Bulk bags placed by crane are usually easier. Tell us where they can go.
Working around the public
Tell us the times the site is open and any restrictions, and we fit the delivery around them.
Network connection
Where the job includes a new supply from the network operator, their rules set the backfill for their part. Tell us on the form.
Depth and protection
How deep the cable goes and how it is protected is set by the wiring regulations and the designer. We supply the sand to suit.
Questions
How much sand for a home charger trench?
A short trench from the house to a driveway charger usually takes a bulk bag or less. Put the length, width and sand depth into the cable sand calculator to check.
Can you deliver a single bulk bag?
Yes. The minimum is one bulk bag, about 850 kg.
Can the bag go on a driveway?
Usually, if the crane can reach and there are no overhead lines in the way. Tell us where you want it and about anything overhead.
